Terms

You accept these terms with Vionter Labs Pte. Ltd., a Singapore company, UEN 202626182D, of 160 Robinson Road, #14-04 Singapore Business Federation Center, Singapore 068914, when you register and when you activate a tag. On this page that company is "Tagzil" and "we". The shop or seller you bought your pack from is not part of these terms, and never accepts them for you. What Tagzil does with your data is on the privacy page.

The service

A tag carries a tag code. Someone who finds your item scans it, registers, and writes to you on Tagzil, and you write back. Neither of you sees the other's mobile number or email address unless you choose to share it in the thread. Tagzil alerts you to a new message by a notification on your phone, then by email. No message and no finder's name is ever inside an alert.

Tagzil passes messages between people. It does not locate, track or collect anything, and it cannot promise that a lost item is found or returned.

Registering and activating

Everyone registers before acting, owner and finder alike, with one account: one way to log in, a verified mobile number, a verified email address and a name to show. A mobile number belongs to one account at a time. Keep your way of logging in to yourself: what is done from your account is done by you.

You activate a tag with the activation key printed on your pack's card. Too many wrong activation keys stop your account from trying and offer you support; they never block the tag. If a tag in your pack will not scan or will not activate, contact support and your pack is refunded or replaced, without your having to return it. Once any tag in a pack is activated, the pack is not refunded for a change of mind.

Service Term

Each tag comes with 5 years of service from the day you activate it, not from the day it was made or bought.

Renewal

Renewal is free and carries no charge. You can renew a tag from its fourth anniversary, in the app or on the web, and renewing adds 5 years from the day the term ends or the day you renew, whichever is later. A tag is never renewed for you: you choose to renew it.

Grace and lapse

When a tag's term ends without renewal, it keeps working exactly as before for 90 days, and a finder sees no difference. After those 90 days the tag lapses, and a finder who scans it is told the tag is not active. If a lapsed tag is scanned, you are told.

Reactivation

A lapsed tag is reactivated free, in one action, at any time until its quarantine ends.

Quarantine and retirement

A tag that lapses, or that is revoked, is held in quarantine for two years. At the end of the two years it is retired: the tag is no longer yours, and its tag code is never given to another tag. When you delete your account, your tags are revoked.

Messages and conduct

Tags identify things, not people. You may not:

Tag a person. Do not put a tag on a person, on their belongings or on a vehicle without them knowing, in order to follow where they go.

Use the messages to do harm. No harassment, no threats, no fraud and no spam, to a finder or to an owner.

Put someone else's personal details in a message. Not a name, not a number, not an address.

Resell access to Tagzil messaging. The service comes with the tag and stays with whoever activated it.

Never write a child's name on a tag or in a lost note. What you write stays yours; you allow Tagzil to store it and deliver it to the people in the thread. Message bodies are deleted 90 days after a thread closes. You can block a sender, and a block is silent: their messages go to your spam folder.

Disclosure to authorities

Your mobile number is verified and held by Tagzil. We answer lawful requests from authorities.

Suspension

If an account breaks these terms, Tagzil may stop it from sending messages. Suspension stops sending, never owning: a suspended owner keeps their tags and still receives messages about them. You may end these terms at any time by deleting your account.

If Tagzil stops

Renewal is free for as long as we run the service. If we ever close it, we will say so on this site at least 12 months before, and write to every owner we can reach. We do not promise a refund.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore decide any dispute about them. Nothing here takes away a right that the law of the country you live in gives you and that cannot be given up by agreement.
